Predictive algorithms can be isolating, so it takes work to experience the engaging words, images and projects that exist outside your own circle; think of this as your own personal challenge to change #oscarssowhite. Avoid living in a silo by finding the work people of color make every day—and you’ll likely find something you want to share. Be mindful that white voices (including well-meaning ones) are already heard, and that other voices don’t need your validation. That said, you can respectfully celebrate and share diverse voices with your own networks, and embrace any initial discomfort with your supporting role as the price of admission to perspectives that teach, challenge and amaze you.
