It is inexcusable for systems (especially those everyone pays for and participates in) to serve communities inequitably. In recent decades both court rulings and social tides have shifted to support this principle, yet inequality remains. Political shifts can put progress in danger at any time, so it’s important to stay up-to-date on the news and share what you learn to help make it common knowledge. Feeling depressed by the rate of progress is understandable, but rather than giving up or pointing fingers, educate and be accountable to yourself in order to fairly demand accountability from others.
